After you have checked everything else and videos are still not playing on your Apple TV 2 or 3 (check which version you have), we recommend that you follow the steps below:
- Unplug the Apple TV from its power source.
- Wait a few minutes.
- Plug the Apple TV back in.
If you have an Apple TV 4:
- Remove and reinstall the PBS Video app from the Apple TV by pressing and holding the select button on the app's icon on the home screen
- Go to the App Store on your Apple TV and reinstall the PBS app.
If you have an Apple TV 2 or 3, you may need to try updating the firmware:
- From the Apple TV main menu, select Settings.
- Select General.
- Select Software Updates.
- Select Update Software/Update automatically.
- Select Download and Install.
- Once the update is complete, launch PBS and attempt to stream again.
Note: If your Apple TV displays the message "Your Apple TV is up to date" and you are on a version lower than 6.2.1, we recommend contacting Apple or visiting https://support.apple.com/HT202716 for support.
To check your firmware version, follow the steps below.
- From the Apple TV main menu, select Settings.
- Select General.
- Select About.
- Verify that your software version is 6.2.1 or above.
