On most LG TVs, if you've already enabled the TV's closed captioning(CC) setting, the PBS app will also begin displaying closed captions when you begin watching videos.
If you need to turn on closed captions within the PBS app, please try these instructions:
- First, start playing any video on the PBS app that has closed captioning available.
- While the video is playing, use your LG TV remote's select button to pause the video. Pausing the video isn't needed to enable closed captions, but it can make it easier to enable or disable closed captions without missing any of your favorite content.
- Once the video is paused, use your remote's arrow buttons to navigate to the CC option at the top of the video screen. You'll know if the CC option is highlighted if the CC icon turns a light blue color.
- If closed captions are disabled, you'll see CC OFF at the top of the screen. If closed captions are enabled, you'll see CC ON at the top of the screen.
- While the CC OFF icon is highlighted, use your remote's select button again and the icon should update to CC ON to enable closed captions.
- If you paused the video in step 2, you can either wait a few seconds or use your remote's arrows again to navigate down to the video player's time bar. Press the select button on your remote to start the video again.
