Can I use the PBS app on Roku without activating?

The PBS Video channel on Roku requires a channel activation since September 2015.

Activating the PBS Video channel is required due to the account-based features on the channel, such as saving favorite shows and videos, syncing saved favorites across devices, the ability to resume a video, and other features.
