PBS is asking me to sign in through Facebook or Google, but I cannot sign in through Facebook or Google.

If you have signed into PBS.org in the past with a Facebook or Google account, but your account settings or permissions for Facebook or Google have since changed, you may be prompted by PBS.org to sign in with one of those accounts but are unable to.

Please follow the directions below to dissociate your PBS account from Facebook or Google. The steps below will have no effect on your Facebook or Google account.

  1. Please go to https://account.pbs.org/oauth2/send-reset-password/, enter your email address, and click the green Reset button.
  2. You will receive an email with a reset link, like the one pictured below.
  • Clicking the link will take you to the screen below with fields for a new password. Choose a new password and enter it twice, then click Reset.

  • This will set a password for your PBS Account, which is not associated with Facebook or Google. This means that on all PBS websites you can choose the “Sign in with Email” or "Sign in with PBS Account" option and login with the same email address and the password you just created.

After this process, you should no longer be prompted to sign in with Facebook or Google.
